about
When I listen to this song, I see a horror rom com. It’s built around the cynicism I have from giving so much love and somehow never being able to have it reciprocated. So, In a movie… all my exs would be killed off first, and nobody wants to be that guy. After you lose the love you fell for, there's pain and loss and sadness. But after that, sometimes, you get angry - angry at that person for screwing you over, and angry at yourself for falling so hard. It makes you want the poetic justice of "killing the bad guy." A horror movie death can be both silly and satisfying, simultaneously. If anything, "If Life Were a Movie" should mean "If MY life were a movie, I'd be the protagonist. I'd be the hero, you'd be the bad guy, and even though my broken heart comes with some great character development, it's still your fault, and now you gotta go. Sorry, not sorry.
lyrics
I wrote you letters
Like you complete me
You don’t complete me
I flew the ocean
Thought you were everything
But You’re not Everything
If you’re a bird
Then I’m a loaded shotgun
So lemme tell you once
Don’t make me tell you twice
If life were a movie
You’d be the guy that dies
If life were a movie
You’d be the guy that dies
And I’d go on living
I would be satisfied
You never loved me
That’s why you never tried
If life were a movie
You’d be the guy that dies
I kept my lights on
For you too long yea
Too long
I would’ve bet on
You were the one yea
But You're not the one
Your pretty face is
Clouding my decision making
And your pretty face
Was fucking a hallucination
If you’re a bird
Then I’m a loaded shotgun
If life were a movie
You’d be the guy that dies
I’d go on living
I would be satisfied
You never loved me
That’s why you never tried
If life were a movie
You’d be the guy that dies
Ddddddd dies dddddddd dies
I’ll wear your jacket
digging your grave
Can’t wait to see the
Look on your face
If I miss this
I’ll just hit replay
If life were a movie
You’d be the guy that dies
I’d go on living
I would be satisfied
You never loved me
That’s why you never tried
If life were a movie
You’d be the guy that dies

The Nashville-based power trio are a decidedly DIY-minded band. The Foxies infuse their songs with equal parts raw emotion
and a musical sophistication that comes from years of devotion to their craft.
